Writing and developing a creative documentary

Thursday 26.08, 10:00, Salle Cinéma

The CNC organises a workshop around the process of developing a work of documentary having received support from the audiovisual innovation aid fund for creative documentary.
It will centre on the project Été 21 by Kaveh. The project received development money in March 2021 and is looking for a production company.
Aside from the problems connected to the origin of the project and the long work of scouting and inquiry among militant youth, particularly in the period of the pandemic crisis and the limiting of the militant social sphere, the workshop will focus on the use of “deepfake” techniques, these substitute faces that make it possible to maintain the anonymity of certain characters without dehumanising them, and our relationship to images and their authenticity.
Kaveh graduated with a Master’s degree in cinema and audiovisual arts in 2020 and is engaged in the collective “La Meute Photographie” as a videast and reporter; Été 21 is his first documentary.

Summary:
Été 21 presents a summertime patchwork of young people finally liberated from confinement, all quite militant, quite party-loving, some a little delinquent, riotous sometimes. They have strange faces: “deepfakes”, false digital faces that belong to other people. All summer, they, and their face donors, oscillate between vagrancy, partying and mobilisation, amid the anxiety of the “world after”.

Workshop moderated by Fabienne Hanclot, Head of the Creation Service (CNC). With the participation of the director.
