( Al Youm )
Akram Zaatari
2003 - 86 min - Mini DV - Couleur et Noir & Blanc - France
This film, the result of three years’ research, mixes images from photographic archives, television and the Internet, depicting the mental landscape of the film-maker today in the Middle East.
It starts as a traditional investigation in the footsteps of the historian Jabbur and the photographer Manoung, in the Syrian desert of the 1950s. But it quickly takes a more personal turn, addressing the links between the production images and political conflicts.
