Joseph L. Mankiewicz
1947 - États-Unis - Noir & Blanc - 104'

In the early 1900s in England, the young widow Lucy Muir moves into a seaside cottage with her daughter, Anna, and her maid, Martha. The house is haunted and, on the first evening, Mrs. Muir catches the ghostly appearance of the former owner, a grumpy and mischievous but harmless sea captain named Daniel Gregg, who died in 1896. Lucy soon finds herself short of money, and Daniel offers to dictate his memoirs, so that she can publish them under her own name.
