At dawn, a man leaves to search for a giant catfish (a silurid). This very large fish, originally from the Danube, provokes the same kind of mistrust that a foreign body or a stranger does, suspected of disturbing the established order of things. Suddenly, a number of enigmatic phenomena block the fisherman’s crossing. This film, imbued with magic realism, gives back their original meaning to the terms “strange” and “stranger”, once indistinct.
