Writing and developing a creative documentary

Thursday 25.08, 10:00, Salle Cinéma

The CNC is organising a workshop on the process of developing a documentary film which has received support from the Aid Fund for Audiovisual Innovation in Documentary.
It will centre on the project Choses qui font battre le coeur by Laure Cottin Stefanelli, produced by Pauline Tran Van Lieu and Lucie Rego of Huotong Productions, which received aid for writing and then development in June 2022.
It will provide the opportunity to discuss the specific problems of such a formally ambitious project, the process of its scripting, use of photography and special effects as well as the stages of development in production then in coproduction with Belgium.
A graduate of the Paris National School of Decorative Arts in 2010, Laure Cottin Stefanelli made her first medium length film No Blood in My Body which won the short film prize at the Ecrans documentaires festival at Arcueil. Since then, she has had shows in museums and participated in several artistic residences abroad.

Summary:
To find solace in their solitude, Etienne, Thierry and Alain have made the choice of living love stories with non-human beings, love dolls. These three men have an uncommonly fertile imagination which lets them breathe life into their inanimate companions. One summer, which all three of them were spending in the South of France, an unheard of event, magical and unexpected, took place.

Workshop in the presence of Laure Cottin-Stefanelli, Pauline Tran Van Lieu and Lucie Rego.
Moderated by Fabienne Hanclot, head of the Creation service, and Marine Coatalem, head of the FAIA DOC fund.
