Régine is a well-known lawyer in Brussels. She had a long and prestigious career after the war. At the age of 84, she is still working.
Under the Occupation, Régine and her husband Lucien set up, along with some friends, an organization of armed resistance to the Nazis, the Partisans Armés. Régine was a courrière, i.e. a liaison officer for the Partisans' Headquarters. Her husband, Lucien, was in charge of armaments for the organization until he was arrested in May 43. The Germans shot him in February 1944.
After the Liberation, Régine went back to her work as a lawyer and set herself to serve great causes, the defence of Jewish victims, equal rights for women, the defence of immigrants and refugees.
