Searching for a part of her origins, Candice, young half-caste French-Khmer goes a summer to Cambodia. Thirty years before, her father came to France in order to achieve a PHD in physics, without thinking he couldn't go back to his country. "Aller-Retour" gives an image of present Cambodia and also shows a misunderstanding of a half-caste girl about one of her cultural heritage. Through different meetings, Candice discovers the reality of a country and a people a bit more everyday. Her quest brings her on the road number 2, and reminds the tragedy of the Khmer rouges, when her family and the all the others had to leave the city to the killing fields. How living "normally" after the PolPot regime ? Here is one of the major questions asked in this film.
