Spaniards vote for the Popular Front in the parliamentary elections of 1936. Reactionary forces and Franco’s army unite to declare war on the Spanish people. In factories, attacks are committed. On 18 July, the press reports the military uprising. The people respond by taking up arms against the rebels, who spread terror in the towns and countryside. This civil war turns into total war with the arrival of foreign aircraft, which bomb civilians.
