Rudolf Pfenninger
1932 - Allemagne - Noir & Blanc - 13'
In this film made in 1929, Rudolf Pfenninger used the technique of photographed maps. In his book, La Musique et le Cinéma, Georges Hacquard evoked his first research: “The sound recorded electrically on the optical soundtrack looks like a jagged line. The idea came from the Swiss Pfenninger of drawing a haphazard line on the film and listening to the sound it represented, the drawing being traced with a brush.”
