On the hills of Annecy, “The Centre” dominates the beauty of the lake. This former summer camp is the only reception centre for asylum-seeking families in the region. The living conditions are harsh: people are crammed into dormitories, and every day, whether it is rainy, windy or snowy, they have to leave the premises from eight a.m. to five p.m. However, while their parents are silent and solemn, the children in the centre form happy little groups. One day, by order of the prefect, the centre closes.
