In 1942, my grandmother had had to leave his village of Russia burned by the German army. She was twenty-five years old. She will die thirty-six years later, here, in Limousin. I was ten years old. Of her, I know few things. Sixty-five years later, I went there. I wanted to go out of silence. Bring back sounds, pictures which would have been able to be his, try to find what it had left, what had got lost, what was unknown to me, what however belonged to me and that made that someplace, I was foreign with something of myself.
