Apparent in the form of decorative images, toys, traps, whistles, feathers and targets, the motif of the bird, which is often linked with hunting, has a strong presence in the reserve collections of the Mucem in Marseille. At once an object of fascination and capture, the bird blurs the borders between the inert and the living. Are birds documents? Can the reserves of a museum of civilization be seen as a honey trap? Is the point to work towards the liberation of the document, in the manner of animal liberation?
