Oiga vea! is the first film made by the Grupo de Cali : Carlos Mayolo and Luis Ospina left Bogotá for Cali to film the sixth edition of the Pan-American Games, held in the city between July and August, 1971. Without accreditation, it was up to them to film the event from the outside, from the margins of society of the spectacle, and this paradoxical condition pushed them to identify with those who could not attend the Games, the poor people living and working in the streets. The editing underlines the contrast between the omnipresent hunger and misery and the official anthems. The title of the film is a meta-filmic political manifesto: listen, look! F.R.
