In Retornar a Baracoa we are transported to a distant and inaccessible place: it is one of three films shot by Guillén Landrián in 1966 in the eastern part of Cuba showing the transformations that have taken place at Baracoa since the triumph of the Revolution. Famous for its production of chocolate, Baracoa has seen new development and the opening of new factories, bringing about changes in the economy and social systems. This short film is the first in which Guillén Landrián experiments with the use of photos, animation and text inserts within the musical rhythm of his edit. Banned film.
