In addition to being a plumber at the town hall of Maripasoula, Wani has a precious knowledge: the drum that frees the mourning spirits. But since his father, the community's traditional chief, died, Wani has felt an existential void. His loss leads him to question the meaning of his existence. Nevertheless, when a villager dies, he engages in the steps of the Puu Baaka ceremony to release the spirit of the dead man and the grieving family. Wani tries to lead the event, but his mind is elsewhere...
