Olga & Olga

Olga and Olga are solid soviet women discussing their struggles through life and with men. Emancipated in the marxist sense, they don’t need men to survive, but does feminism mean anything more for them than a fairy tale?
Both Olgas live on the Estonian-Russian border. In the nineties, they lost their jobs; factories were closed down all over the ex-Soviet Union.
Today, to make ends meet, they both smuggle things daily across the Estonian border. The men have disappeared from their lives and we can discuss it all freely. The border marks both their intimacy and the broader social environment they live in.
