On a stranded, emptied boat by the Mekong, a funeral band plays random tunes without any apparent reason. A man puts his head inside a hole he has just dug. A dying tree, a small puddle, a piece of rusted iron, a tattered flag, a flickering flame provoke vague fantasies about the reality across the river.
