In Italy, at the beginning of the seventies, the Head of the criminal brigade is about to be promoted to the position of director of the political section. Persuaded that his function places him above the laws, he cuts his mistress’ throat, Augusta Terzi, during their bouts of lovemaking. With perfect cold blood, he puts everything in place to prove that nobody will have the intelligence or even the audacity to suspect him and in this way trouble the established social hierarchy. He works cunningly to scatter damning proof, relaunching the investigation when it seems to get stuck…
