Peter Nestler
1963 - RFA - Noir & Blanc - 10'
In a little mountain village in the Canton of Bern, Peter Nestler makes a touching and sensitive film on a nursery school, with the collaboration of the teacher and his camera operator, who had been a schoolmaster in a neighbouring village. The children read out their compositions. Nestler films them carefully, paying great attention to detail, but the German distributors didn’t want the film: they thought the children were dressed too modestly and used too many dialect words to be understood.
