Where does theatre begin, where does life end? The touching Madam Phung, head of a troop of some thirty singers and magicians, crisscrosses Vietnam, arousing fascination and hostility among the locals. Through informal interviews, different portraits question sexual identity and the social norm in a society where transvestites and homosexuals cannot officially be integrated.
