A sort of atlas of Hungarian sacred images: from icons to wall frescoes, from votive offerings to paintings. The camera lingers on details, starts zooming violently over the pictorial ruins and the montage threads together a cascade of faces damaged by time in an attempt to decipher the message. The apotheosis of the sacred, as the director demonstrates with an energy verging on kitsch, is not to be found in a church and its withering testament, but in the world and in the springtime explosion of a cherry tree in flower.
