This is the commitment that SaNoSI Productions makes for the creation of each film. How to respond to the artistic and temporal demands of a shoot and an edit sometimes with few resources? How to make a free and crafted cinema which is visible by the largest number?
I founded SaNoSi Productions in 2005, in Maintenon, a town in the Centre-Val de Loire region. In 2010, I became major shareholder of the company and moved fully into production anchored locally and with an international scope.
Since 2012, the company has produced more than sixty films, mostly creative documentaries for television and the cinema. More than half of these films are by first-time filmmakers, made by men and women from around the world and in particular from the French Overseas Territories.
In 2018, two features were admitted to the official selection of the Cannes Festival: Libre by Michel Toesca, in a special screening received a mention at the Golden Eye prize and numerous distinctions from international festivals. Le Grand Bal by Laetitia Carton in a special screening was nominated in 2019 for a César as best documentary. Both were released in cinemas and were seen by 131,000 spectators in France. In 2021, two new features were part of the official selection at the Cannes Festival: the documentary H6 by the Chinese filmmaker Ye Ye, in a special screening, and the feature length fiction film Freda by the Haitian filmmaker Gessica Généus in the section Un certain regard. Freda received theatrical distribution on October 13, 2021 and H6 on February 2, 2022. These two films are distributed in France by Nour Films. International sales are handled by SaNoSI Productions. Freda has won to date twenty five prizes in international festivals.
