Who are the subscribers to Tënk? What does it mean to be a public of documentary film? Are there one or many types of “docuphile” and what place does Tënk occupy in the evolution of their practices? These are some of the questions that guided the survey carried out among Tënk’s subscribers from January to August 2022 in the framework of the PARADICC research project financed by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region. The fruit of a close collaboartion between Tënk and a team of researchers from the Universities of Grenoble, Lyon 2 and 3, the survey draws attention to the plurality of Tënk’s audiences characterised both by the diversity of their cultural practices and that of their different engagements. The results of the survey dilineate several profile-types of subscribers while indicating some shared expectations that this first public presentation will highlight.
