The Cinémathèque du documentaire, launched at the end of 2017, is a public institution dedicated to promoting the distribution of documentary films. It supports a network of venues throughout France, the overseas territories and a structure in Belgium. In Paris, it offers daily screenings at the Centre Pompidou. It contributes to the census and identification of works. It offers an online editorial service.
To do this, it works with several partners: Images en bibliothèques, the Bibliothèque publique d'information (Bpi), film-documentaire.fr and Tënk.
Thanks to the original and committed support of its main funders – CNC, France Télévisions, LaScam, Audiens, Sacem, Procirep and Arte – the Cinémathèque du documentaire is a unique and unifying player, a major player in the French audiovisual and cinematographic landscape.
