In 2001, Jørgen Leth and Dan Holmberg returned to America and brought home a film brimming with the joy of reunion and the same refreshing curiosity and painterly fascination as twenty years before. We revisit “scenes” from the first trip: the same three drinks are mixed at the same bar in New York City. Meanwhile, the new film even more intensely highlights the mythological America and the Americans themselves. However, the bulk of Americans are artists living in New York, cult figures like poet John Ashbery, musician John Cale, actor Dennis Hopper and photographer Robert Frank.
