Fantazio feels that his father is dying. “My anguish at his death is as deaf as the joy in this world. How ancient was the time when he didn't understand me. His life was also the Second World War, but he never talked about it. I'd like to get everything he knows out of his skull, record the smoke of everything he thinks, hear him laugh very softly...” He suggests that his father take a trip to see an old friend with whom he joined the resistance during the Vichy regime.
