The painter Lorenzo Jaramillo lies ill on his bed. He knows he will die, as he is victim of terminal AIDS, which has left him blind. After a short but intense and creative existence, in which all his senses were fully connected to life (he was linked to theatre and music too), he has a lot to tell about it. Luis Ospina films him during two years, with love and respect: he makes their common (“Our Film”) film, in-between a diary and an autobiography. We can feel Lorenzo’s intensity, his cultural virtuosity, his cinephilia, and finally we understand that this portrait is more than a classical meditation on death: it is a moving claim about the art of living.
