From the top of the Cerro de Monserrate, at an altitude of 3,152 metres, you can enjoy a unique view of the city of Bogotá. Up there is the Basilica of Monserrate, a religious place of uninterrupted pilgrimage on which Carlos Mayolo and Jorge Silva take a virtuous and corrosive look. The challenge of climbing the mountain is shown through a multiplicity of viewpoints and ways of seeing that fragment the climbing experience. Mass tourism and popular culture, religious fanaticism and commercial exploitation, food and devotion: all are blended by the modernist editing of the young filmmakers. F.R.
